At Kids’ Test Kitchen, we believe both can be learned.
Redefine kid food.
We believe children are capable of so much more than the limited menu we’ve traditionally called “kid food.” Through hands-on cooking experiences, we help participants discover that colorful vegetables, whole ingredients, global flavors, and homemade meals can become favorites, too.
Cooking is a life skill. And so is eating.
Cooking teaches practical skills. Eating confidently is just as important. That’s why every Kids’ Test Kitchen experience creates opportunities to explore, prepare, and enjoy food without pressure or judgment.
Building food confidence.
Everyone deserves the confidence to nourish themselves.
Hands-on cooking is our vehicle for change. Every Kids’ Test Kitchen experience is intentionally designed to continue at home. By sending home recipes and featured ingredients whenever possible, we invite participants to recreate what they’ve learned with the people they live with—because lasting change happens one shared meal at a time.
Through every recipe, tasting opportunity, and shared meal, participants build food confidence—along with the practical skills, curiosity, independence, and habits that support a healthier relationship with food.
What began as programs for children has grown into a broader mission. Today, we partner with schools, recreation departments, libraries, camps, healthcare providers, and community organizations to serve children, participants with disabilities, and individuals participating in medically supported health and wellness programs.
Whether a child is tasting a new vegetable for the first time, a young adult with disabilities is building greater independence in the kitchen, or a patient in a weight management program is learning practical strategies for lasting behavior change, our purpose remains the same: helping people feel confident, capable, and empowered around food.
Our programs are engaging, inclusive, and evidence-informed, recognizing that lasting change happens through experience—not lectures. Because when people gain confidence in the kitchen, they also gain confidence in the choices they make every day.
One experience. One bite. One confident choice at a time. That’s how we redefine kid food.

Our Story
Kids’ Test Kitchen began with a simple belief: children learn about food best by experiencing it. Operating under a different name, in the spring of 2013 we started with just a class or two through the Reading Public Schools and Lynnfield Community Schools in Massachusetts. The response was overwhelming. Kids were excited to eat new foods, parents were thrilled, and our hosts wanted more.
Early in 2016, we officialized our growth as an LLC and updated our name to Kids’ Test Kitchen. We brought together a team of talented facilitators to bring these classes to life and rapidly expanded our reach.
Today, those original community roots have blossomed into partnerships with over 100 organizations. While we’ve grown, our classes still fill up just as fast, and we remain among the most popular offerings for the schools and communities we are privileged to serve.
