It is expected that KTK participants and Facilitators handle themselves in a manner which is mutually respectful and in compliance with the host school’s/organization’s policies.
Our motto: Kindness matters.
If a participant is intentionally unkind, he or she will be reminded of our expectations and the consequences of repeating the behavior. If the behavior continues, the participant will be instructed to remove him or herself from the group and will be given a seat elsewhere, and a site staff person will be notified. The site staff person will determine when/if the participant can return to class. If, after speaking with site staff the participant continues with intentionally unkind behavior, he or she will be removed from the class and connected with the highest authority present on location.
The Facilitator will report any of the above behavior, and how it was handled, to the participant’s family and or staff present on site.
Kids’ Test Kitchen has zero tolerance for verbal threats of violence and egregiously inappropriate language. If a participant uses language in such a way, he or she will be removed from class and immediately connected with the highest authority present on location and their parent(s) will be notified immediately. The participant will not be allowed to return to KTK for the remainder of the session.
Our motto: Keep your body to yourself.
After a full day of sitting still at school, we understand that many kids struggle with wiggly bodies. This behavior can sometimes be distracting and frustrating to peers, but it is essentially harmless. The Facilitator will use his or her judgement to manage each incident as needed. If the distracting behavior persists or appears to be outside of the participant’s conscious control, the Facilitator, or KTK management, will connect with the participant’s family or site staff for tips or strategies that can be easily implemented to ensure that remaining classes are a successful and enjoyable experience for all.
Kids’ Test Kitchen has zero tolerance for physical intimidation, violence, or inappropriate contact. If a participant demonstrates such behavior, they will be immediately removed from class and connected with the highest authority present on site and their parent(s) will be notified immediately. The participant will not be allowed to return to KTK for the remainder of the session.
